Juan Pablo Dotti, AeroCat Cycling Team, took first place in a heated sprint to the finish against Kevin Attkisson of Texas Roadhouse cycling. A gentleman's debate took place between both teams after the congested finish between Dotti and Attkisson. Good sportsmanship trumped the passion as the teams shook hands and discussed the finish.

Lindsey Wilson College today announced that they will partner with AeroCat Bicycles to be the official team bike supplier for the 2008 road season and beyond. Lindsey Wilson Cycling and its rich tradition of cycling excellence will rely on the advanced technology of Aerocat’s carbon monocoque frame and forks to provide them with the lightest, fastest, and best handling bikes in all of Division 1 collegiate racing.

“We are so excited to be working with such an incredible sponsor like AeroCat.” noted Lindsey Wilson coach David Grigsby. “When it came to putting our best athletes on the best equipment, there was quite simply nobody else we wanted to work with more than Dave Poole and AeroCat. They were our first and only choice.”  There are a lot of details to cover when coaching a cycling team. Knowing your equipment is going to hold up to the rigors of training and racing at the highest level gives us peace of mind and allows us to focus on other variables. AeroCat will be an integral part of our success in the seasons to come.

Grigsbys’ passion for coaching and the Lindsey Wilson program is equaled only by the energy of Dave Poole and the AeroCat family.  “We are searching to form long-term sustainable partnerships with teams and programs that have the full package.  This includes strong leadership, integrity, passion, and athletic talent.  There’s a lot of good talent out there in the sport of cycling.  AeroCat is looking for athletes that can bring all of those elements to the table. Grigsby has a vision for the Lindsey Wilson cycling program and we are honored to be part of it “, said Poole.

Janech Davenport and the Wander Wheels organization finished a safe and successful ride in New Zealand. Janech has been evaluating the ACR500 for cross country touring. "There are a thousand things that shine about the bike. I like the acceleration and stability of the bike. I like the fact that it is a very quiet bike," said Janech. The Wander Wheels organization has already started a new tour in Florida traveling from Key West to Cocoa Beach. They will bike this trip two times over the next several weeks before starting the coast to coast (California to Georgia) tour in March. Since getting the AeroCat bike in November, Janech has logged over 1400 miles. "When I met Janech at Interbike, I asked her how many miles it takes to make an accurate assessment of a bike. She immediately answered with around 1,500. I thought to myself, this is the kind of person we want to evaluate our bike. It is the most extreme test," said Dave Poole. See pictures from the New Zealand trip in the photo gallery.

Tiago Depaula Riding AeroCat Bikes in 2008 -

We are very excited to announce that Tiago DePaula will be riding AeroCat bikes in 2008. Tiago is a top level cyclist based out of the Atlanta area with many victories in key races over the past few years. Originally from Brazil where he was a professional triathlete, he decided to move to the USA and focus on his cycling career. "I met Tiago at the Interbike show in Las Vegas back in September. In the first 90 seconds of our acquaintance, I could see that this guy is a winner. His professional attitude and passion for cycling was shining. I am glad we were able to work out a deal with him, said Dave Poole. Tiago will be riding the ACR500 and will be one of the first to race the company's new time trial bike currently in development. "AeroCat is great company. It's amazing how the company believes in cycling and supporting athletes. I am very proud to be part of AeroCat during their 1st year as a new company. They have potential to be a great company and one of the top high-end brands. I enjoy riding the ACR500. It is fast, aero, stiff, and light," said Tiago DePaula. For more information on Tiago, visit his bio on our website at www.aerocatbike.com/tiagodepaula.html.

New Zealand – Janech Davenport will be pedaling the AeroCat ACR500 on the other side of the world as she leads a 600+ mile, 2.5 week tour around hilly New Zealand. Janech, an ace bike mechanic, along with husband Bob Davenport, organizes and leads trips (including American Coast-to-Coast) for Wandering Wheels, a not-for-profit company. We met the Wandering Wheels team at Interbike and discovered that they are located only a few miles away from our headquarters in Indiana.. Janech has a wealth of knowledge about cycling and offered to help test our our new bike. She visited the AeroCat shop on one Saturday morning and helped assemble the bike. "We are very honored to have such a high-profile enthusiast testing our bike and guiding our business development efforts. We look forward to receiving feedback from the trip and working with Wandering Wheels on future projects," said Dave Poole.

We will be starting the Hilly at around 9AM on Saturday morning. It looks like it will be a little Boilermakers versus Hoosiers rival during the ride. We recruited two Purdue students and one IU student to join us on Aerocat bikes. Charity's an IU grad and I am a Purdue grad. So that's three Boilermakers versus two Hoosiers. But the Hoosiers have the home court advantage to even the stack. Look for the AeroCat team on Saturday (and Sunday)... Dave Poole

AeroCat will be participating at the Hilly Hundred on October 12-14 in scenic southern Indiana. There will be a few (three or four) of us riding our new ACR500 bikes for fun and to take a few photos for marketing and promotion. At this time we do not plan on exhibiting in the tent. Check the web site for updates as we may be posting times and places to see the bikes.
