Our Story

 

Our story is quite simple. Cycling and endurance sports have been our passion in life. We basically gave up our "secure life" to start a bike company. Our goal is to someday become a large global brand and to enhance the sport of cycling through our innovations. Our current attention is focused on developing a strong product foundation and building our brand name through "hands on" strategic marketing.

 

The design, technology, and manufacturing of AeroCat carbon frames and forks is best-in-class. We have carefully selected and developed key relationships with manufacturers that are producing frames and components for the very top brands in the industry. We work with our partners to create unique products utilizing existing technology and manufacturing techniques. This has allowed AeroCat to enter the market with already-proven products tailored to fit our image and target customers. "I have seen a lot of new brands enter the market over the years. Many of them started with sub-quality products. You guys managed to introduce an absolutely top-end product right from the start," said an experienced mechanic at one of our dealers.

 

Our sales strategy is to steadily grow our market share through the Independent Bicycle Dealer (IBD) channel. We are dedicated to utilizing IBD's for selling and servicing 100% of our products as we build our brand. We believe high performance bicycles need the attention, personal touch, and value added services offered by IBD's.

About the Owners

Dave Poole is the co-founder, President, and part owner of AeroCat, LLC. He is a 1987 graduate from Purdue University with a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. Working in the electronic industry for over 20 years has given Dave a broad range of experience in management, engineering, design, sales, marketing, and distribution. Innovation has been a key part of his everyday life and he currently has 16 US patents issued with his name as the inventor. Cycling became part of his life through the sport of triathlon since 2002. Dave began custom building his own bicycles in 2005 and eventually decided to take his passion for the sport to a new level by launching AeroCat LLC.

 

Tim Poole is the co-founder , Vice President, and part owner of AeroCat, LLC. He is a 1981 graduate from the US Air Force Academy and holds a BSEE, MSEE, and MBA. Tim was a pilot in the US Air Force and has over 3,000 hours of flight time. He was involved with the development and testing of smart munitions back in the early 90s. Tim enjoys participating in sports and enjoying the outdoors, once logging over 50 "river days" in one summer in the Utah-Idaho area on his Kayak. He recently completed a full Ironman triathlon and has ran several marathons. Tim has a very tactical/disciplined nature and usually wins by developing a well thought-out plan, working hard, and executing relentless perseverance.
