AeroCat Frequently Asked Questions

Where are AeroCat bicycles made?
AeroCat bicycles are designed and assembled in Portland, Indiana, USA.  Individual components are sourced from a variety of

suppliers that are manufactured globally.  The frames are manufactured to AeroCat’s specifications by top-industry

subcontractors based in Asia.  AeroCat works very closely these subcontractors and visits their factories several times a year

to ensure the quality.

What is the warranty?
All AeroCat frames come with a 5 year limited warranty

How long has AeroCat been in business?
Actions to start the company began back in September 2006.  The company officially incorporated in January 2007 and began

selling bicycles in October 2007.

How much does this bike weigh?
AeroCat bicycles weight anywhere between 13 and 20 pounds depending on the frame material, frame model, frame size, and

component selection.  The typical weight of each model is listed on the product brochures.

What size bike do I need?
Approximate frame sizing can be determined by measuring the inseam and height of the rider.  Saddle height, position, and

reach can be set at the time of purchase.  More precise fitting can be provided through a professional bike fitting partner.

What is the maximum rider weight?
AeroCat frames and other brand components sometimes use lightweight materials and may have a rider maximum weight.  The

original equipment manufacturer may or may not specify this information.  In general, all riders should be aware of these

limitations, especially those approaching 230 pounds or more.

Does AeroCat offer women specific bikes?
AeroCat frames are designed with a relatively short top tube and therefore are typically very suitable for most female riders.

Saddles used on AeroCat bikes are unisex but a woman’s specific saddle may be preferred and can be provided for a small fee

depending on the saddle choice.  The bike can also be “dressed up” with special color handlebar tape, bottle cages, and other

accessories to give it a personal flavor.

What is the performance difference between Aluminum frames and Carbon Fiber frames?
Carbon fiber frames are generally lighter and more expensive than Aluminum frames.  Both materials are very reliable, strong,

proven, and durable for making bicycle frames.  Carbon fiber frames are better at absorbing road vibration and therefore tend

to offer a more comfortable ride than Aluminum.  This becomes more important as riding distance and time in the saddle

increases.

What is the performance difference between the ACR500 (or R505) and the R750?
The R750 utilizes high modulus carbon fiber materials and is fabricated with a special process that allows for increased strength

and lighter weight.  The result is nearly a pound of difference!  Bottom Bracket stiffness in terms of power transfer from the

crank to the rear wheel is slightly improved on the R750 model as well as its ability to absorb road vibration (based on

laboratory testing).  It takes an experienced cyclist to feel the difference.  The ACR500 (of R505) is still preferred by most

cyclists because of the performance to price ratio.

How does AeroCat’s frames compare to other large brand-name frames?

everyone our products.  We use high-quality materials, fabrication processes, and quality control standards.  Our products
